Rebecca Lunstroth is Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and the Associate Director of the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics at the University of Texas, Houston, where she manages the day-to-day affairs. She co-directs the ethics and professionalism content for students of McGovern Medical School, Ethical Dimensions of the Biomedical Sciences at MD Anderson-UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and directs the MSIV Medical Jurisprudence course. Ms. Lunstroth is Chair of one of UTHealth’s Institutional Review Boards and explores a number of issues facing research, particularly privacy concerns. She also provides consultation and training alongside Sylvia Villarreal for organizations planning to offer the Sacred Vocation Program. Ms. Lunstroth was also recently named the director of the Campus-Wide Ethics Program.
Ms. Lunstroth frequently lectures on the United States healthcare system, justice, and the legal and ethical issues in healthcare. Her research interests span from reproductive health to the rightful place of personal responsibility in medicine.
