In addition to her rabbinical training at the Ziegler School for Rabbinical Studies (AJU, ’13), Rabbi Rachel Safman holds a bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology (with honors) from Harvard University and a doctorate in Development Sociology from Cornell (’02). This latter degree includes a minor in Epidemiology, based on study-in-residence at the Bloomberg School of Public Health (Johns Hopkins). She is passionate about the interface between Jewish thought and secular thought, especially in scientific and technical fields.
