In the Beginning… From the Oceans to the Earth to the High Heavens

MORNING SESSION with Richard Madonna and Rabbi Linda Joseph: Our new understanding of the universe is at odds with the biblical story of creation, as well as the teachings of the Talmud and Kabbalah. Where does science end and religion begin? Where does religion end and science begin?

AFTERNOON SESSION Richard Arnold, who will speak in the afternoon, is a retired astronaut who will add insights from his experiences as a mission specialist on the Discovery Shuttle and the International Space Station. Bet Aviv will explore existence from the bottom of the ocean, on the face of the earth, and from the perspective of the high heavens using science and Jewish texts.
