Biblical text and its interpretation have always gone hand in hand in Judaism, and one well-known method is called “PaRDeS” (which, in English, became “paradise.)” It’s an acronym for four different Hebrew words that lead us into deeper and deeper analysis of the text, and we’ll discuss how this method arose, why it’s used, and then apply it on a few verses from the Hebrew Bible.
