When the unexpected happens, what’s technology got to do with it, and what do we do next?
Ernie Wolshin will speak about Black Swan events and the role that technology has often played in transformative unexpected events. He will examine how Jewish philosophers and theologians have written new understandings in response to course-changing events in Jewish history (eg. Destruction of the 2nd temple, Spanish Expulsion, and the Holocaust) and seeing what the juxtaposition of these ideas might reveal about human resilience and response.
Ernie Wolshin is recently retired after a career that began in chemistry research and pharmaceuticals and later, with DELL and others, employed the use of computer systems and platforms to support the healthcare industry.
