The Spirituality of Particle Physics: A Conversation with Dr. Adam Lyon

Just over one month ago, FermiLab announced its findings on an experiment called Muon g-2. It made front-page news in places like the New York Times, and raised the question that it might help scientists to think beyond the standard model of physics. What was this experiment, and why was it so exciting? What were physicists looking for in this experiment, and what new ideas and questions arose? And can this help us think about God in new ways?

Dr. Adam Lyon is a particle physicist and senior scientist at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), where he works on the Muon g-2 experiment. He is also part of Oak Park Temple, a former Scientists in Synagogues congregation.
