The Power of Observation: A Conversation with Amy Herman

The Power of Observation: A Conversation with Amy Herman

Art’s role in everyday life is a topic that has been debated for millennia. Because of this uncertainty, it often gets pushed to the margins as a part of human accomplishment that, like religion, brings people together, in this case to see something new. How can sharpening our perceptions of art shape us into more attuned, more connected people?
Amy Herman is a lawyer and art historian who teaches courses on observation, analysis and communication using engagements with the fine arts. She is also the author of two books, the bestselling Visual Intelligence: Sharpen Your Perception, Change Your Life, and the brand-new Fixed: How to Perfect the Fine Art of Problem-Solving, published in December 2021.
